A Morning

The kids took one look at the sky and went in to get their boots and rain coats on. Landon, however, seemed to forget pants!

We woke to a cool, cloudy morning. It was refreshing. Because we are farmers now (!), we hope for rain to come and nourish our fields of growing hay. 

Most mornings start the same. Landon wakes up asking for the horse and baby goat. Landon and Addi head outside to to get "baby" aka, Sammy, so he can be fed is morning bottle. We run to see "ariah", the horse to give her a morning treat. (All of this before Mama has had a cup of coffee.) On this day Mariah was picked fresh carrots from the garden. Landon screamed at Sammy as he tried to steal the carrot meant for Mariah.  

The kids head to the little pond to check on the goldfish.

We feed the dogs and cats and hopefully call out for Nugget to come home. We check the coop for any early eggs.  Once the animals have been given a proper good morning we head inside for coffee and breakfast. It's a pretty special way to start each day.
